AJ Ginnis: bigtruck's newest Brand Ambassador

As he is packing up his bags he hurriedly answers a call for an interview with bigtruck brand before he darted off to Chile to train with the World Cup team for two weeks. His car trunk shuts and he responds to the question of how long he has been racing for, “ I have kind of a funny upbringing, “ AJ said. “I was born in Greece but didn’t move to the United States until I was 15 and then I quickly made the US Ski team when I turned 16.”

AJ had an unusually late start to the ski racing world when he began racing at the age of 12, yet ski racing has done everything to define the honorable and outgoing person AJ is today. In March 2015, Aj was awarded The 2015 Junior Alpine Skier of the Year alongside the female nominee, Mikaela Shiffrin. Two days after receiving the award, he finished as runner-up in the U.S. National Championship slalom behind World Cup regular David Chodounsky (http://bit.ly/1Lwp3zr). 

“The lifestyle is the best part about being on the team. We travel and I get to race on the World Cup Team,” Aj said about being apart of the U.S Alpine Ski team. “We’re such a tight knit group of people (all 7 World Cup racers). “ AJ wanted to join the bigtruck team because he is able to believe in the fun first motto and put it to work even when traveling with the US Ski Team.

“bigtruck is such a cool brand and totally a growing trend around the world,” AJ said.

In the sport of ski racing personal stresses bleed out in the form of loosing or winning by 100^th of a second. Training can be cold and conditions relentless. AJ has learned how to incorporate fun into his busy and radically active lifestyle. “For me happiness comes with the process of getting to the podium. It is all about training and looking forward to the end result,” Aj said. “My joy comes from the process of getting to that point.”

AJ and the team are in Chile for another two weeks and then look out for AJ in Levi, Finland where he has the opportunity to make it to the opening World Cup Slalom. Bigtruck brand is proud to announce AJ Ginnis as a new bigtruck Brand Ambassador!
